As a 7th-generation local whose Appalachian-Melungeon/Pasqaq family almost pre-dates Tennessee (Its Correct Cherokee Name: Tenasi, Tanasi), our Native Blood that stands across many Tribes as do my family's cultural/religious practices/farming methods (includes an orphaned Grandparent w/ modern-day cave-dweller relatives in 1950s) & our general approach to Life/-Living Beings; my/our show enshrouds many educational, inspirational, cultural experiences within some Friday-night beats. We try to feature in each show a unique language element, an interesting sound (many Native American & First People's instruments will imitate a sound from Nature), as well as an interesting set of musical pitch intervals/rhythms/scales or artists that are less common or of mixed cultures. I always try to interpolate 1 meditative piece or spiritually-edifying message in each show, because that is how music takes you to a place where you can transcend normalcy or hear your Ancestors as they walk with & guide you, even if they are "walking in the wind", so to speak. We hope you enjoy our show on a deep, meaningful level & that it gives you glimpses into how we view God, Nature, Earth, its Inhabitants as One Related, Interconnected-interdigitated System that functions as One, and that our tunes/beats free part of you up as a listener to feel joyfulness, peace, glory in the world around you and respect/appreciate everything in new ways as our Drums' "Ancient Beats to the Rhythm of Life" call forth the Ancestors to Guide/Bless us all. Mitakuye Oyasin (All Our Relatives Present), It is so/it is good (Wechetu Helo), Amen (A'Ho)
