Each episode of Dreambeat sets a mood and explores different facets of a genre or musical approach. From the jagged guitars of shoegaze and noise pop, to the off-kilter industrial rhythms of contemporary experimental and electronic producers, to the swells of wistful synths and manipulated samples of ambient and avant garde artists, to the plaintive melodies and tasteful arrangements of (mostly female or non-binary) singer-songwriters, popcorn brain takes a sonic touchstone and finds common threads across a wide range of styles.
