Southern Word is a Nashville-based organization that uses the literary and performing arts to offer creative solutions for youth to build literacy and presentation skills, reconnect to their education and lives, and act as leaders in the improvement of their communities.
Three spoken-word artists from Southern Word — Debria Tyler, Nina Donovan and Leslie Garcia — join "Transmission" to share their work, which explores questions around racial and gender identity, religion, what it means to be an American, and much more.
