With the past two weeks of natural disasters from flooding in Tn to Hurricane Ida and her destructive path from Louisiana to NYC, my guest on All About Nashville is Janey Camp, Research Assoc Professor in Civic and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University. Camp studies the interactions of nature and man-made systems by modeling natural disasters and their potential impacts on communities and infrastructure systems to identify key risk areas. We discuss the recent increase in the number of and intensity of storms, fires and other natural disasters across the southeast and globally and how our communities can build resilience and better adapt to these climate changing threats.
